World's Worst Mage - In Action!

World's Worst Mage - In Action!

In between Love is in the Air, the downing of Naxxramas and the rest of real life, I’ve been working hard on Leota, World’s Worst Mage and currently my least-hated alt. (There are people in my guild with 3 level 80s. I have no idea how that can be done.)

The Tattered Dreadmist mantle has really proven its worth. Last night, Leota hit level 55 while poking around Felwood. A lot of this was due to help by The Warlock, who took her through Zul’Farrak and by one of our guild’s level 80 mages, who escorted Leota, a level 55 rogue and a level 56 death knight through Blackrock Depths.

Incidentally, BRD is where my retired Alliance rogue hit 60. I remembered the area, too. But do you know what I forgot about BRD? It’s LONG! Hours and hours of long! Room after room of bad guys and fire but much fun nonetheless.

And the loot was great for a baby mage. Leota received the Wand of Eternal Light from the Dark Coffer and the Robes of the Royal Crown from of the evil Emperor Thaurissan.

The only trouble we had was in that room where you have dozens and dozens of mobs that keep spawning until you light the two braziers. Leota was on the very low end of the instance level recommendations, and pulled aggro from all angles. To get it to work, I had to practically hug the level 80 mage as he Arcane Novaed around the room. Oh, you know what else I forgot about BRD? The run back from the graveyard. Long. Long. Long.

Her next goal is reaching level 60 and her fast riding skill. I can’t believe she only has 5 levels left before Outland!

I know I’m thinking very far ahead, but I probably won’t bother training flying on her until she reaches 77 and can fly in Northrend. It’ll give me more time to save up the gold.

I highly doubt you are the worlds (or even WOW’s) worst mage. I surely enjoy hearing about your adventures with Leota and Akromah. I have a lowbie mage, and eventually I’ll level a Pally too. 🙂

Yes, BRD is a long and painful (because of its length) instance.

I did the same with my Hunter Indrakshi. I did not pick up my training when I hit 70. There was no reason since I headed to Northrend at level 68. It’s not as if I can fly around there. That happens with my next level. I’m still undecided if I’ll pick it up then, although I have the money. I might just wait until I hit 80. We’ll see… 😉
