Achievement Roll Call!

May 11, 2009

Happy Monday! My WoWing this weekend was cut short due to 2 good things: meeting up with some friends from HIGH SCHOOL on Friday night (thank you, Facebook!) and Mother’s Day yesterday. We took Mom to the Borgata Casino in Atlantic City. I lost $70. Time to farm gold, I guess.

Achievement-wise, here’s my brag book for Akromah:

During Akromah’s WoW Date night last week, she finally got exalted with the Argent Dawn, which made her an Argent Champion! Rather, Akromah, the Argent Champion. It’s a neat title for a paladin. I’m proud. (dorklaugh)

The two stunty Halls of Lightning achievements (Shatter Resistant and Lightning Struck) were from her disasterous heroic run last week. Since you see no Heroic Halls of Lightning achievement, you’ll realize that Akro didn’t go back this weekend.

I did, however, tweak her gear a bit. I spent 40 badges on the Egg of Mortal Essence to give her some more spellpower and haste. I was reluctant to give up the Sapphire Owl, but I went through 3/4 of Naxx-10 on Saturday night without any mana issues. Maybe I was using it as a crutch. I also put the +10 to all stats enchant on my chestpiece instead of the mp5 enchant. I’m going to try to get her into H:HoL this week. I only have 3 play nights this week though before we flee the state for a few days.

Now onto Leota:

After some whining discussion in guild chat, I rounded up a group to take Leota through Azjol-Nerub and Ahn’kahet: The Old Kingdom. There were 3 80s, Leota at 75 (ding!, by the way) and a very sporting level 73 priest.

I’m just excited she got to do dungeons where they naturally occur in her leveling, rather than how I did it with Akromah. On her trip to 80 I either did the dungeons BEFORE I got to them in the questline (Killing Keristrasza in Nexus before I met her in Coldarra) or far after (all the other dungeons).

Your turn! Big or small, Blizz-sanctioned or not, share your accomplishments below! (Or, y’know…brag on your own blog & leave a link here. You get the picture.)

Well I had a full WoW weekend. I didn’t touch my 80’s but I did make a Pally. Her name is Themis which means- Themis is an ancient Greek goddess. She is described as “of good counsel”, and was the embodiment of divine order, law, and custom. Themis means “law of nature” rather than human ordinance, literally “that which is put in place”, from the verb τίθημι, títhēmi, to put. This is from Wiki.

I thought that fit her. I had emblems just sitting around so I got her the BOA plate shoulders that adds strength and crit, sorry Can’t remember the name and I also got her the BOA 2h Axe. I got her to lvl 30 before I logged last night and I started her Thursday night. Total playing time is 1d 10h 25m, I thought it was crazy how fast I was leveling her.

Just a little tid bit, I ran RFK at 26 with another 26 pally and with the axe my DPS was double everybody else. It is just unbelieveable, this axe will probably stay with her until 80 and she gets her Titansteel Destroyer.

Well that is it and if you didn’t catch that, BOA plate shoulders turn to mail on Warriors and Pallies that are lower than 40, just some FYI.

I didn’t do a whole lot this weekend as i was out of town on Saturday… but i did get my Ice Mammoth from Sons of Hodir… now if i could only bring my rep up to exalted with them.
I also got the achievements for 100 tokens of Valor and 500 stone keepers shards… still about 40 away from the mount there since i spent many of them on the JC recipies.
I bought some of the Legacy Gear for my priest and got him from 60 to 61, not a huge increase but i only played him for a couple hours.

I’m excited and want to share, even though it won’t be impressive in such company. My partner and I finished Blackfathom Deeps (our first time!), just the two of us, on level 32 druids. No idea whether that’s considered a challenge (I’m guessing not so much…), but it was a blast. Especially since I apparently never mentioned the candles at the end or not clicking all of them at once…

    No deaths, though!

Aye, I got the Shatter Resistant achievement (as well as the whole H-HoL thing), H-Old Kingdom and the timed H-CoS run too. During the heroic spree, I was able to get exalted with both the Kirin Tor and the Warsong Offensive, thus finishing off my dungeon rep championing for all of Wrath. I figure at some point, I’ll return to the old BC dungeons to try and get some old-school rep to feed my achievement whorism as well. 😉

Looks like I wasn’t the only one who needs to farm for gold after Mum’s day. I took her out to this Greek restaurant and blew $60… And speaking of farming for gold, I just did that and didn’t get any new achievements. I finally got my Armored Blue Wind Rider on one of my wow accounts after several weeks of grind!

    Congratulations on your achivements….

Deimonia, my Affliction Warlock has ran a lot of instances this past weekend. Utgarde Keep, Ahn’Kahet, Azol-Nerub, and Violet Hold. The first three I’ve run several times since I hit 70.

This past weekend was my first time running Violet Hold on Deimonia. Violet Hold wasn’t as much of a challenge for Deimonia since all except Deimonia (73) and a level 72 Holy priest buddy were 80, lol. Three of my guildies came along. We still had fun but I plan to run that before the weekend to see how I do with people at my level.

The majority of my guildmates are at 80 so I’ve ran a lot of PUGs. I have met a lot of nice people on the way and really had a chance to learn my class in the group setting playing with those around the same at level. From a DPS standpoint, I learned very quickly how much I could get away with. Sure, I met some players that really sucked in their attitude or needed practice in playing their class. The first type I ignore and never play with again. I don’t mind running with the second type most I’ve met are trying to improve. I have seen many of them do this as I’ve grouped with them. For example, I regularly run with a Pally healer. He’s amazing and has been able to heal through some very sticky situations. Initially, when he started out he was good but certain issues he had problems with. He’s definitely made improvements and so have I. Making improvements with your playstyle are achivements too and we both have had a lot of practice both in solo and running PUGs.

Deimonia received a lot of gear upgrades this past weekend so I guess those are achievements also.

Deimonia is level 74. I imagine she’ll hit 75 the next time she logs onto WOW.
